Harry Potter Studio Tour! (spoiler alert)

harrypotterstudiosSo last October I ordered 6 tickets to go to the Harry Potter Studios which was last Thursday. I like the Harry Potter films but I wouldn’t say I was one of those obsessed fans. But when I stepped out the car in the car park and saw all the posters and sign at the entrance I was really excited and couldn’t wait to get in there even though we turned up an hour early.

The Film Project at Selfridges!

The other day whilst I was getting Pinkberry in Selfridges my friend checked on her Iphone to see what other places we could visit whilst in London for the day. She came across the film project that was located at the Old Selfridges Hotel which took us about an hour to find as everyone’s directions mainly from the employees at Selfridges were too complex or confusing to find the place. After wondering around for so long we were about to give up and head off somewhere else to which we then noticed a sign outside the food hall doors which said the Film Project.

We walked up these dark stairs to where we were greeted by some man who guided us into another room where there was a desk and a clock room. We then noticed draped curtains with bright red and yellow lights. Another man was standing around with leaflets and approached us and asked us if we wanted him to explain how it worked. There were 6 rooms with draped curtains across and when the light was red that meant that the film had already started, when the light was yellow it meant the film hadn’t started yet and finally when the light was flashing yellow it meant the film is about to start.

We hurried off to the room with the yellow flashing lights and the room had piles of blank books in the two corners of the room and had director wooden chairs and a projector screen on the wall with a count down. We sat down and watched the 4 minute film which was about art.
The next room had a giant bed across the whole of the room. I couldn’t help but take my shoes off and jump around the bed. The projector screen was on the ceiling so you had to lie down to see the film.
The next room had a massive white blow up rabbit in the corner and black bean bags to sit on. I could have stayed there all day.
The next room had a giant sofa in which everyone would of had to of shared.
In another room were four poster beds with screen projectors at the end of the beds.
Another room had another giant bed and the final room had a massive mirrored table in the centre and the projector screen on the wall.

I love thought of experimenting with different ways to let people watch a film as some seats would of had to of been shared with other people and sitting on a giant bed with strangers seems rather strange but it brings people together as everyone is in a close environment but enjoying the film that’s being played. I enjoyed watching the short films as they were all very different and worth seeing. Afterwards we headed to John Lewis to catch a late lunch.

Here are the titles of the films. For more details check out the Selfridges website.

Tiffany Presents Skate at Somerset House 2011!

These are my photographs from Somerset House from last week as I was volunteering at the Skate Workshop. The ice rink was empty as they were renewing the top layer of ice. I have never been ice skating before as I will probably be on the floor the whole time. Also I don’t fancy breaking a leg before xmas either. I love the fact that it is sponsored by Tiffany and Co as they are a great company and sell the most beautiful jewellery there is. I also love the brand colour and the boxes the products come in. I also managed to get a picture of myself next to the giant xmas tree :) Somerset House is a great place to visit whilst your on the Embankment as you can easily spend a couple of hours there wondering around or ice skating or even having a light snack in one of their many restaurants and kitchens.

A trip to Oxford Street :)

Giant hello kitty
I went to Oxford street for one of my interviews and had to go to Selfridge’s as I ended up in the Artbox section looking at all the stationery which I love. Saw this giant hello kitty and it was £190 and they sold one the other day the employee mentioned. I didn’t buy anything from this section but spent a lot of time looking at everything.

Sugar from john lewis
Sugar Fish john lewis
Next trip was to John Lewis where I Saw these sugars for tea and cupcakes that you could eat they are pretty cool I was going to get some but not many people in my family have sugar with their tea but they are nice decorative pieces.
Chocolate Pinkberry
Just before I went home I couldn’t leave with out getting another Pinkberry. I was going to get the large tub but it’s so big having just chocolate would not be good so I decided on the small tub again and it was really nice my favourite of the flavours.
